Regulatory Status Is Not an Endorsement — Or a Verdict
Approval for one indication says nothing about a second. Absence of approval says nothing about mechanism. Both errors are common.

Tesamorelin is approved to reduce excess visceral fat in adults with HIV-associated lipodystrophy. That approval is specific, evidence-based, and frequently cited to imply something it does not support: general body composition benefit in healthy adults.
The opposite error is equally common. A compound in phase 2 trials is not disproven; it is unproven.
Reading a status badge
Every compound page here shows a regulatory status alongside an evidence grade, because they answer different questions. Approved for a specific indication is a distinct status from approved, and we label it separately for that reason.
